She is belonging to Bengali-Marathi family. Her father was a film director and producer while her mother is an actress. Kajol made her bollywood debut when she was 17 years  in 1992 through Bekhudi but her bollywood success was Baazigar in 1993 opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Where is 'Hot Singer Vijayalakshmi' Now?

The combination of beauty with brains is hard to find but then the cine circuit has few exceptions like that.

One among them seems to be the Singer Vijayalakshmi. Age is catching up on her but she maintains hot appeal in literary and singing circuit even among younger crowds.

She also implied that there wouldn’t be any ‘close’ relation between music director and singer, but the relation will just be between ‘composition’ and the ‘voice rendering it’. Those who watched the interview said that Vijayalakshmi sure knows the tactics to handle interviews.

Shoaib Malik playing Tennis with Sania Mirza

Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has taken to playing tennis and is elated at beating his star wife, Sania Mirza, on a mini court.

"I play tennis with Sania twice a week. I beat her at a mini court recently," Shoab Malik said during a recent interaction at Lahore airport.

Malik, who developed interest in the game after his marriage to the Indian tennis ace, is now aiming to beat her on a standard court.

"I now want to win a game on a full-sized court," the former Pakistan captain said.

Emphasising on the rise in Sania's ranking, Malik pointed out that her game has improved after their marriage.

Malik said he was in India during the historic cricket World Cup semifinal between the arch-rivals but regretted for not being able to watch it live.

"I did not have a visa for Mohali," he said. Sania is passionate about cricket and the couple support their respective countries during an Indo-Pak cricket match.

"We watch the game together, she supports India and I support Pakistan," he revealed.

Talking about their marriage, the cricketer said both were happy. They are based out in Dubai but keep visiting their native countries.

"We live in Dubai and keep visiting both India and Pakistan. Both the High Commissions have been very cooperative in issuing us visas," he said.

It takes several months for PoP to dissolve in water; it greatly reduces oxygen levels and increases acidity in water. What does this mean?..Disturbing the ecosystem in such way leads to death of most marine life as a result of poisoning the waters of lakes, ponds, rivers and seas. This toxic and poisonous water also causes contamination of the underground waters. Animals, fishes drink this toxic water and it eventually ends up in our food chain through milk products, sea food or meat. …Means a serious health hazard to us, humans. In many areas, the same polluted water gets pumped into homes as well.

People who consume this type of polluted water, experience a wide range of health problems such as infections of the lungs, intestinal water born diseases (as typhoid, Hepatitis, cholera , gastritis, Diarrhea etc) and diseases of the skin (as skin maceration, irritation, or infection) blood, and eyes.

'Sex with young girls has become luxury of rich' says Kerala High Court

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Monday said that sex with young girls had become the "luxury" of the rich and rejected the bail pleas of eight accused in a case relating to the rape of a minor girl allegedly by 100-odd men over a period of time.

"Sex with young girls had become the luxury of the rich and the hunt for virgins had gained momentum. This may be because of fear of AIDS," Justice K T Shankaran observed.

He dismissed the bail applications of eight accused, including CPI-M local leader Thomas Varghese, in the case relating to the rape of the 14-year old girl of Paravoor in Ernaulam district.

So far over 60 people, including the girl's father, have been arrested in the case.

In her complaint to the police in June, the girl had said her father, who used to do small roles in Malayalam films, was the first to rape her. He then took her to various places and 'offered' her to at least 100 men.

Priyadarshini Ram Reddy, also referred to as Meesala Ram Reddy in the media circles, appears to have gone into virtual hiding, after he was unceremoniously necked out of Sakshi, the media house promoted by YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy about two months ago.

Ram Reddy brought professionalism and work culture to Sakshi and in fact, was considered to be a synonym for Sakshi. For the readers, he was popularly known as Ram Annayya and for the others, he was “Sakshi Ram Reddy.” Such was his attachment with that media house.

After quitting Sakshi, Ram Reddy is nowhere to be seen. TANA actively helping students of University of Northern Virgini - More Details

On July 28h, 2011, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) initiated action against University of Northern Virginia (www.unva.edu) and served with a Notice of Intent to withdraw (NOWI) ability to enroll or maintain International students admitted under Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVIS).

The majority of International population at the University consists of students from India reportedly from Andhra Pradesh. The Situation is vastly different from the “Trivalley Situation” where in the investigation was on the students and their SEVIS status was changed from ACTIVE to TERMINATED. However, in the case of UNVA, the focus is on the University and its inability to follow rules set forth by SEVIS for International Students. There have been no arrests or detentions or electronic monitoring and the SEVIS status of students is unchanged and continues to be ACTIVE for their approved duration of study.

The University would not be immediately shut down but would be given a one month notice for explanation. Currently enrolled students would be able to continue education and finish the term after which has two options. a) . Seek transfer to another SEVIS approved University. b) Or seek voluntary return to India

In a notice on their website (www.ice.gov/sevis/unva) ICE has informed the UNA student that they have two choices - continue to attend classes and maintain their active status or seek transfer to another SEVP approved institution. UNVA does not have access to SEVIS and will not be able to issue new I-20s for new students and will also not be able to manage non-immigrant students’ records in SEVIS.

The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has immediately started to work with accredited and SEVIS approved schools to allow UNVA students to transfer seamlessly into their programs in a timely manner so that they do not lose continuity in academic progress as they work towards obtaining the degrees of their choice.

In a notice issued to its members, urged people in the Northern Virginia area to contact the students and provide immediate and long term support in this difficult period of transition to other schools. Students can also directly contact TANA by calling any of the TEAM SQUARE members in the Virginia region. Or sending an email to team@tana.org.

TANA President, Prasad Thotakura is actively working with authorities to ensure that all students are protected from detention and voluntary departure and also ensuring that the students are in compliance with SEVIS rules at this critical juncture. Under his leadership, the entire Executive committee and Board of TANA are very actively engaged in discussion with accredited, licensed and SEVIS approved schools to facilitate immediate transition and continuity in education.

Update on Srija Sirish Bharadwaj Family Court Case

The latest development in the Sirish-Sreeja marital trouble case is that Sirish has surrendered himself in the Nampally Court after his valiant efforts to secure an anticipatory bail went in vain. However, those who were present at the court premises during his surrendering revealed a touching incident.

It is heard that after surrendering himself, Sirish cried a lot. The talk is that he wanted to see his daughter Nivruthi and was missing her a lot. It seems Sirish reportedly said “I have not harassed anyone. I can’t say things openly right now. But I am really worried about Nivruthi. I want to live with my daughter.”

Speak Asia COO Tarak Bajpai arrested in Multi Level Marketing Scam

Indore: The Mumbai police has arrested the chief operating officer of an online survey company for alleged financial irregularities, police said Friday.

Tarak Bajpai, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Speak Asia, an online survey company, was arrested late last night in connection with a forgery case from the Vijay Nagar police station area, City Superintendent of Police Amarinder Singh said.

Singh, who refused to give further details, said that Bajpai was being taken to Mumbai for detailed interrogation.

The Singapore-based company Speak Asia, which is yet to be incorporated as a company in India, charges a membership fee of Rs 11,000 for a year. The members are expected to conduct online surveys for clients of the firm. Members are paid for conducting the surveys.

Following a controversy in May this year over the company's operations, an investors protection group filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Bombay High Court. - PTI

Magsaysay Awards 2011 Awards announced: Two Indians Nileema Mishra & Harish Hande Won

Manila, Jul 27 : Asia’ s prestigious Roman Magsasay awards winners announced. Nileema Mishra, a woman lender to poorest in Maharashtra, and US-trained Indian engineer Harish Hande, who revolutionised use of solar lights, are among six people who have been awarded.

“The two had helped to harness technologies to empower their countrymen and created waves of progressive change across Asia,” award foundation president Carmencita T Abella announced.

Filipino charity group Alternative Indigenous Development Foundation, Inc (AIDFI), Hasanain Juaini, who set up an Islamic school for girls in Indonesia, his fellow countrywoman Tri Mumpuni, who promoted micro hydropower technology and Koul Panah, working to restore democracy in Cambodia are the other winners of the award, often described Asia’s Nobel prize.

The winners will receive a certificate, a medallion and a cash prize in Manila on August 31. The award is named after famous Philippine president who died in a plane crash in 1957.

“Harish Hande passionate and pragmatic efforts to put solar power technology in the hands of the poor …. has encouraged the poor to become asset creators,” the foundation said.

Mishra was recognised for “her purpose-driven zeal to work tirelessly with villagers in Maharashtra……to address both their aspirations and their adversities through collective action and heightened confidence.” Among other notable Indians who have been honoured with the coveted award include Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Jayaprakash Narayan, Mother Teresa, Arun Shourie, T N Seshan and Kiran Bedi.

'Namaste Telangana' News Paper failed to attract in Telangana region?

It was with great hype and hoopla the newspaper ‘Namaste Telangana’ was launched and sources say the man behind that is TRS head K Chandrasekhar Rao. Speculations were making rounds that this would give a very tough fight to big players like Eenadu, Sakshi in the Telangana region.

However, a close source working with the T-movement and based in Warangal came up with an interesting fact. He revealed “Namaste Telangana got huge opening response like a big hero’s film Anna. Right in the first week, the subscription touched one lakh fifty thousand copies.”

He added “But within one week, it came down drastically. The number came to sixty thousand and those who took it in beginning have gone back to Eenadu and Sakshi. They cannot be blamed because if you read ‘Namaste Telangana’ you will notice that most of the things are taken from Andhra Jyothi and other newspapers and rewritten. And the quality is very poor. Overall, the newspaper has become an utter failure in Telangana.”

Telangana Cable Operators to ban TV9 New Channel in Telangana region?

The leading Telugu news channel TV9 has earned the wrath of the Telangana protagonists because of its alleged biased coverage of events pertaining to the statehood movement.

The stand-off has now reached a flashpoint with the Telangana Cable Operators’ Joint Action Committee deciding to boycott the channel across the region from Monday.

As a result, the channel will be blacked out in the region till it mends its ways. The JAC has issued notices to this effect to the Telangana MSOs (Multiple System Operators).

The JAC has accused the TV9 management of adopting a deliberate anti-Telangana stand and twisting the developments to suit its position.

The latest incident that triggered the confrontation was the suicide of Yadi Reddy, a youth from Moinabad in Ranga Reddy district, in the heart of Delhi.

The Cable Operators’ JAC has alleged that TV9 had deliberately blacked out the coverage. The suicide incident was completely ignored by the channel. It was not mentioned even as a scroll.

However, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi legislator T Harish Rao beating up an official of the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan was played up by the channel. It repeatedly showed the footage.
